    OK, I admit it took me a minute to figure out what’s going on here. She needs an assistant to make her tall enough to reach the counter. Got it.

    But now I don’t get the Ewww…

    The ewww is that “Meadow Muffins” is a slang term for horse droppings.

    So - Ewwwww.

    Never really heard horse muffins before, just horse apples, but I assumed similarily Lucy was talking about her famous bran muffins full o’ fiber.

    I’m pretty sure horse manure would not have come up if the horse hadn’t been sticking its butt out like that.

    In Norway, they’re called horse pears. Now that I know about muffins, this one has become a LOL for me.

    I always heard the term “horse apples” or “road apples”.

    Plus not being a reader of that strip, I didn’t realize that that was a horse…

    I too was only familiar with road/horse apples prior to reading this in the paper but assumed that that muffins would prove to be an apple by another name. (Apppologies Will)

    Huh. I laughed at this strip when I saw it - the idea of Danae being a domestic anything is worth an LOL - but totally missed the muffins thing. Yeah, ewww.

    Then again, we just may be reading too much into it, and Lucy really DOES know how to make muffins, not “muffins.” I blame the Argyle Sweater guy for making us see poop in everything.
