Maybe the other Indian thinks helping the settlers wasn’t such a bright idea?
I’ve always been startled by the fact that Indians regard Pocahontas as such an icon, considering it a badge of honor to have been descended from her. Even putting aside the fact that the “saving John Smith” story was bunk, why would helping the Jamestown settlers be regarded as a good thing? Seriously, wouldn’t the Indians have been a whole lot better off in the long run if the colonists had all died?
