Hmmm… I think we need a new category for Arlo’s that are totally unsexy in every way. A double entendre is only good if it inspires a naughty smile. This one - blatant as it is - simply inspires a “meh”.

I agree that this is unsexy…and this double entendre only inspired a wince, not a naughty smile.
Plus, I like your name, “B-nice”! ha!

Thanks, Jim - you really know your schist! ; )))

I actually thought this one was totally innocent — until I saw it was Frank Cho’s Liberty Meadows.

Now, if he had said “No beaver can resist my magnificent wood” it would have been entirely different. I would had laughed, as it wasn’t quite as forced as ‘log’.

True, Dwayne - I saw Arlo because the headline warned me in advance, but if I’d stumbled across this strip in the newspaper, “log” would’ve reminded me of poo, instead.

A poor Arlo to set up a punchline that was in Looney Toons in the 40’s, and probably predates that. Meh, indeed.

That’s an old strip from Franks
‘Strips that didn’t get past the censor’ collection.
See here:

It’s number 68.

Out of 280!
Powers May 20th 2008 at 08:14 am 10
Well that invalidates it for an Arlo Award, I guess.
Ross May 20th 2008 at 10:09 am 11
But some kind of award for trying so hard, surely?

Thanks to Ross for posting that link! I have a new favorite comic strip.
