There are several pitchers who refuse to step on the foul line as they cross it, sone players will tap their bat on the plate a certain number of times, and some will step on the bases a certain number of times in a certain way. Here in Cleveland, for many years, we had Mike Hargrove at first, whose ritual before every pitch was so complex they called him "The Human Rain Delay." For these guys, they felt they had to not shower as long as the Red Sox kept winning. The Red Sox continued to win; ergo, the family photo wound up being a stinker. Superstitions run rampant in sports, especially, for some reason, baseball.
