Not to get too geeky here, but Tony Stark originally put on the Iron Man armor because his heart was severely damaged and only the armor could keep him alive.
This isn’t to say that hasn’t been retconned by now, though…

In case anybody cares… On November 9, this site hit a quarter million pageviews (since the June 1 reboot). At the time I predicted that at the current rate of growth, we’d hit half a million by March. With the switchover in addresses (and stat counters), I didn’t notice until just now that we actually passed the 500,000 mark the first week in February.
Now I’ll shut up about it until we hit a million…

Okay, the strip is a year old today, so I think it’s reasonable to ask… Why the hell is it called Punch an’ Pie?
Or has this been obvious from Day One, some off-color reference I was just too naive to pick up on?

Jack Applin: I assume that the “thup thup thup” is the baby suckling. What’s the “flimngth”? Does he have a mouthful of breast milk? Which guy said “flimngth”, anyway?

I didn’t understand this one 6 1/2 years when I first saw it, but I forgot to save it for the CIDU page. I recently came across it again, and I still don’t get it.

Daniel Vawser: I get the joke in today’s Soup to Nutz. Stromoski often puts classic cartoon characters in the background pictures, which “magically” change from frame to frame. (Can actually happen nowadays with an electronic frame… but I digress)The guy in the 2nd panel is Moon Mullins. 3rd panel is Alley Oop. But who’s the character in the 1st panel picture?

Is the joke here that Janis doesn’t know what the word “irony” means and thinks it means “made of iron” (even though the words sound nothing alike when spoken)?

Because tehy’re in a symbiotic relationship with the shark that’s killing their fellow little fish?

Is there anybody not on the edge of their seats after today’s Luann?Actually, if this were all of it, and the “continued” is just a bit of surrealistic/ironic humor, this would be one of the funnier strips I’d read in a while.

Is this one of those “characters get angry for no discernable reason” strips? Because as irritating as Middle-Aged Funky is, I’m not seeing anything amiss in his comment here.
