By Hook or…

I’m thinking this is no more complicated than “Bo Peep’s crook looks like the hook-thing blackjack dealers use to rake in the chips; but if I’m wrong, I’m sure somebody will tell me.

In case I’m not, here’s another one:

Julie: This is exactly what tax firms do this time of year. Is the writer making of fun of them or am I missing something?

Little Bo Peep has bet her sheep…
    Gambling at the reservation casino…
    Unless she rolls a natural…
they won’t be comin’ home waggin’ their tails-o

it’s too late, she already rolled and now
little bo peep has lost her sheep

Maybe the Little Bo Beep cartoon is some king of pun on FLEECED. I don’t have a clue as to the point of the accountant cartoon.

I think in the second one he’s paying the guy with the sign to follow him around. Or do accountants pay people to follow them with signs a lot during tax season and I just wasn’t aware?

The sheep is being dragged away.

“Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep.”

    No more. No less.

arik is right- I didn’t notice the croupier stick taking the sheep and the chips off the table.

But what the heck game was Bo Peep palying? From the marks on the table it appears to be some bizzare hybrid of craps and blackjack.

    Blackcrap? Crapjack?

I LOL’d at the 2nd one. I want to pay a guy to follow me around with a sign!

Well, if it IS the craps table, the sheep is in the right place for it….

That’s definitely a craps table, though the markings aren’t similar at all. (Neither are they similar to markings on a blackjack table, or anything else that I’d recognize.) Blackjack dealers don’t use those hook thingies, either.

The table looks closer to a craps table than anything else. It took me a while to get which way that sheep was pointed - but if that sheep is pooping out chips, I want me one.

For the second, it only makes sense if it is a roving accountant. Our local tax place has a guy dressed like Uncle Sam outside. I think we can measure the health of the economy by counting the number of people desperate enough to take the sign waving job.

She lost her sheep, by using them to cover her bets.

I just noted that one of the tags to this one is “comcs”, without the “i”. Strangely enough, I noticed it from the sidebar with the different categories and wondered why there was a separate category for comics and only found these two under it. Or am I missing a hilarious joke you made somewhere? I suppose Bo Peep and her sheepish friend do appear to be missing an eye or two.

It’s because, Bat, I can’t type for crap.

    CIDU Bill-

You mean you can’t type for craps.

Isn’t the guy in the background, at the roulette wheel, they guy who was beating the dead horse?

Sometimes at this one corner, I’ll see people out panhandling; but come tax time, are they at that same corner in an Uncle Sam or Lady Liberty costume shilling for the tax preparer that’s on that same corner?
