Okay, this is one of those “comic strip character gets angry for reasons I can’t remotely understand” strips: She said the card gives him discounts. He says he’ll be paying the same as he’d pay in the grocery store across the street. Does he think she’s lying about the discounts, or is he shopping in a store that simply charges more for everything to begin with and if so, how stupid does that make him? On the other hand if he has good reasons for shopping at a more expensive supermarket (better produce, for example), then the fact that the card might reduce the prices to those of the grocery store across the street is still a good thing.
In either case, dude, stop off at the pharmacy department for a Prozac.

Okay, I get the first panel. I get the second panel. I get Marcie’s comment in the third panel (Joe’s mom is a terrible driver); but what’s Joe’s mom talking about in that third panel?
