I’m surprized that no one noticed that the sandwich cartoon was almost an exact copy of a “Far Side” cartoon.

But it seems to me, Tom, that Elly’s the one being shown in a bad light here, with John the victim. I’d expect the opposite, if Johnston’s divorce were a factor here.

Regarding the LOL with a side of Ewww: The Far Side did it first, and IMO, better. It showed a man who’d just taken a bite out of his sandwich (with a jar of jelly open nearby), with a foot poised to stomp on a bug. The bug pleaded, “Please don’t squash me! I’ve got a wife waiting at home and ten thousand eggs laid in the jelly!”
